AFRICA 95

Africa '95 was a major cultural and artistic event held in the UK in 1995, taking place in London. Its aim was to celebrate and showcase contemporary African art, culture, and creativity across various disciplines, including visual arts, music, dance, literature, and film. The festival took place in numerous venues across the city, including the Whitechapel Gallery and the School of Oriental and African Studies.

Hassan Musa took part in both a collective exhibition and two art performances (Graphic Ceremonies). The exhibition "Seven Stories" was held at the Whitechapel Gallery. The Graphic Ceremonies "Cruci-fiction" took place at the Whitechapel Gallery, and at the School of Oriental and African Studies.

The event played an important role in increasing international recognition of African artists and in sparking broader conversations about the place of African art in global contemporary culture.
